Hotel Tranquilo is the perfect place for individuals, couples, and small families looking for a quiet, peaceful beach vacation experience. As a privately-owned, locally-staffed, four-room boutique hotel on the beach, we value honesty, privacy, peace, and consideration of others. 

That said, we do some things differently than other, larger hotels and hostels. So, please read through the following information about us before you make your reservation to ensure there are no surprises upon your arrival. 

Room Occupancy

Room rates are based on double occupancy. There is a $15/person charge for the 3rd and 4th occupant in four-person rooms, which is automatically added to the price when making the reservation. Additional occupants (including children one-year-old and older) beyond posted room capacities are not allowed.

Bar

Beverage service is available during business hours, with beer, wine, seltzers, mixed drinks, frozen drinks, soda, juice, and bottled water available for purchase.

Bicycles and Boards

Bicycles and body boards are available for hotel guest rental - adults only. Body boards are not allowed in the pool.

Breakfast

Included in the price of the room, breakfast is served from 7am to 10am daily.

Business Hours

The hotel, restaurant, and bar is open for business 7am-7pm daily. Entrance and beach gates are locked during non-business hours. Guests are given keys to the gates that allow for easy after-hours access and are responsible for locking gates upon exit and entry. Sorry, calls and texts may not be answered outside of business hours, but there are staff onsite after hours in case of emergency.

Checkin

Check-in is available at the reception counter in the dining area from 2-7pm on the day of arrival. A passport or other form of identification is required for each guest over the age of 18. If checking-in after hours, special arrangements must be made in advance.

Checkout

All personal items must be out of the rooms by 11am. Guests are welcome to enjoy hotel amenities after check-out as day pass guests for a fee as space allows. Secure baggage storage is available upon request. There is a $10 charge for late checkouts and $30 charge for lost keys.

Children

Children must be supervised at all times - especially in the pool. Adults are responsible for ensuring that children rinse off all sand before entering the pool and that noise is kept to a minimum for the sake of other guests. Infants and toddlers must wear swim diapers in the pool.

Day Passes

We offer a limited number of adult-only day passes based on availability at $10 per person plus a $10 per person minimum restaurant/bar consumption for individuals, couples, and groups of up to six people. Day pass visitors may use the pool, sun loungers and chairs, outside showers, public restrooms, beach area and beach cabanas. Note: day passes do not include use of hotel rooms, body boards, beach mats, portable beach chairs, pool floaties, games, books, beach towels or drinking water. We ask that day pass visitors help to maintain our tranquilo environment, keeping noise levels low. Sorry, NO OUTSIDE FOOD, DRINKS, COOLERS, SPEAKERS, or PETS allowed.

Drinking Water

Drinking water is available to guests of the hotel free of charge via the dispenser in the reception area. Bottled water is also available for purchase. We don't recommend drinking water from the faucets.

Energy Conservation

We ask that guests help conserve energy by turning off lights, fans and A/C when not in the room and at checkout. For longer stays, housekeeping will service rooms as often as every three days, but less frequently if acceptable to guests.

Grab-n-Go Snack Bar - Items Available for Purchase

Snacks, bottled water, gatorade, and some items often forgot –such as toothbrushes, razors, and insect repellant–are available for purchase from our grab-n-go snack bar in the reception area. We ask that guests record purchased snack bar items on the provided clipboard - to be added to the tab payable at check-out.

Laundry

Laundry service is available to guests upon request for C$100/load.

Music / Noise

To maintain a tranquil atmosphere, we often have smooth jazz playing by the pool. Quiet hours are from 10pm-7am. Guests are encouraged to help maintain the peaceful environment by keeping noise levels down - even outside of quiet hours. Personal speakers, loud music, and parties are not allowed. 

Outside Food and Beverages

Outside food and beverages (other than water) are not allowed in guest rooms or shared spaces. Coolers are not allowed on the property. Food and beverages are available for purchase from the kitchen and/or bar as well as the grab-n-go snack bar in the reception area.

Parking

Each guest room comes with one secure parking spot with additional parking on the street.

Payment

We accept cash in USD and NIO currency; BDF bank transfers; and Visa, MasterCard, and American Express credit cards with a 5% service fee from our credit card processing provider for onsite purchases.

Pets

Sorry, pets are not allowed on the property. No exceptions.

Pool

Our pool is 4ft deep at one end, and 6ft deep at the other. Guests are expected to swim at their own risk. Children must be supervised by an adult at all times. Youth life jackets are available upon request. Sand must be rinsed off before entering the pool. Bathing suits are required. Infants and toddlers must wear swim diapers. Glass is not allowed in or near the pool.

Public Restrooms and Outdoor Showers

Public restrooms are located next to the kitchen for hotel and day pass guest use and there are two outdoor showers by the pool. 

Restaurant

The restaurant is open to hotel guests and the general public 7am-7pm daily. Please check the board for daily specials and desserts. Gluten-free options are available for most menu items upon request. See our menu online here.

Smoking

Smoking is strictly prohibited in guest rooms and reception area but allowed in shared outdoor seating areas. We ask that guests use provided ash trays.

Towels

Bath and beach towels are provided to each hotel guest and must remain on the property. Beach mats and beach chairs are available for hotel guest use and can be taken outside the beach gate.

Transportation

If you would like us to arrange a ride for you to or from the airport or another location in Nicaragua, please let us know at least one day in advance. We've got some great drivers who we know and trust.
